UML Report Release: Integrated Advanced Air Mobility: A Primer for Cities!
Urban Movement Labs is proud to announce the release of Integrating Advanced Air Mobility: A Primer for Cities! This document reflects the work accomplished in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles to understand the AAM landscape and inform future policies in advance of rapidly developing advanced air mobility (AAM) technologies. This work builds off previous work: The Principles of the Urban Sky, LADOT UAM Policy Framework Considerations, and UML’s Shaping Urban Air Mobility in Los Angeles through Community Engagement.
Integrating Advanced Air Mobility: A Primer For Cities is a culmination of the first phase of work completed by the AAM Partnership between UML, the City of Los Angeles, and our industry partners, aimed to facilitate an understanding of AAM to facilitate collaboration between industry, government, and community. The primer provides a resource to jurisdictions looking to explore potential policy responses to emerging AAM technologies by providing a review of the AAM industry today and emerging policy at the federal level. The primer outlines a ‘flight plan,’ summarizing the steps the City of Los Angeles has taken thus far in laying a foundation for future policy development that other jurisdictions may benefit from, and identifies key opportunities and considerations to guide near- and mid-term decision making.
